Genomic information leader adds content, features, and high throughput tools
Westborough, Massachusetts - March 21, 2008 – GenomeQuest, Inc., the leader in genomic information, today announced major enhancements to its GenomeQuest™ sequence search, analysis and data management platform, encompassing increased sequence content and features for handling today’s high-volume sequence information output.
A key feature is the High Throughput Module (GQ HTm) which includes GQ High Throughput Extension (GQ HTx), and GQ High Throughput Reporting (GQ HTr). Users leverage GenomeQuest’s powerful compute cluster, via the command-line or web interface, for sequence search, results analysis and reporting of large data sets.
- GQ HTx: facilitates “all-against-all” sequence database searches via command-line workflows sent directly to the GQ server. GQ HTx provides the high throughput computing functions of a bioinformatics facility without the IT and personnel burden. Users can analyze thousands of sequence queries simultaneously, access aggregated database content, and develop workflows, from their desktop, without the wait.
- GQ HTr: organize, analyze, and report on results from multiple sequence queries, in the GenomeQuest web interface. Results are grouped by query, subject, patent, gene name or organism, and sorted as needed. Apply filters across multiple results sets and export to one-of-three content-specific reports.
Additional enhancements include: improved keyword searching with word proximity, phrase searching, and “wild card” operator; GQ Gene, a high-resolution gene database for human, rat and mouse genes with associated gene viewer; DrugBank Pro database including info on IND’s; as well as the availability of GenBank 164 and additional WIPO patents from paper filings.
